The really effective way running improved my health.

Did you know that less than 5% of adults participate in 30 minutes of physical activity each day. Shocking right.

Disclaimer this blog is not about running technique or helping beginners get started but inspiring people to get outside and explore and come to love and appreciate their local area.

I am a runner. I say this because I used to say I go running or I like running but I have since discovered that my love of running goes further than just exercise. Running for me is a opportunity to explore and release stress and allows me a sense of freedom, that I invite you to follow my journey and hopefully this will inspire you to go for a run too or take a walk home taking a different route.

Why Rediscovering south east London?

I am a Londoner. Born and bread but although I’ve always lived in South East, I often take it for granted and run the exact same routes in exactly the same times. So recently I  watched a Ellen video about auto pilot and It made me realised I run without thinking, I’m not being mindful or aware of my surroundings, I’m literally putting one foot in front of the other and focusing on my sports watch to make sure I’m still hitting the minute miles I was aiming for. How boring – I thought. The grey pavements the bleak air every run was the same. So I set myself a challenge to find new places whether it was a museum or a park and run to it that way each run brought a new sense of curiosity and excitement.
